    Hi Carlos,

    1.
What did you connect the yellow wire to? Did you do this on a switched power supply? So a power supply that switches with the motorcycle’s ignition?

    2.
The 256 GB card, what if you format it in the K6 using the Innovv app?
It may sometimes be the case that an SD card contains an error that can cause the K6’s software to crash.
“Tried 3 different cards (32GB, 64GB and 128GB) with the same outcome.” Do you mean that the K6 also switched off with these cards? If the K6 also switches off with all these cards, I am thinking about the yellow wire. It could be that the power on this connection becomes too low after a few minutes, causing the K6 to switch off. On the power module, is an LED lit or flashing, and if so, what color?

2024-03-23 at 23:24 in reply to: Samsung WiFi No Internet Connection

    Hello B,

It’s a pity that you are having problems with your K6 and that you are clearly expressing your frustration.

In short, NFC is much slower than Bluetooth, so transferring videos is actually impossible. In addition, NFC is only suitable for very short distances, 4 cm and shorter. This distance is too short for the Innovv cameras to make a good connection with your phone. You should then place your phone on your camera for a good connection. In addition, WiFi is also faster than Bluetooth. In short, WiFi is the most ideal connection.

No internet is required to connect to the Innovv cameras.
Internet and WiFi are two completely different things. WiFi is a form of data transfer. The Internet is the large collection of all kinds of information and is therefore not a form of data transfer.

You only need the WiFi connection to connect to the K6.
“I have spent hours trying to connect and always it connects without internet access” So it looks like you do have a WiFi connection with your K6.
When you connect WiFi to the Innovv, your phone sees this connection as the access route to the internet. But the k6 is not a connection to the internet, it is only a ‘hotspot/wifi’ connection to your camera. This may be the reason why your phone is reporting that there is no internet connection. After all, your phone (Android) is constantly looking for a connection to the internet.

I’m curious whether the green LED on the front camera of the K6 lights up or flashes continuously. If you search for the K6’s WiFi signal with your phone, do you see a network that resembles INNOVV_K6_…..?

Have you installed the latest firmware version of the K6?

which version of the Innovv do you have installed on your phone.

You don’t have a firewall turned on on your phone?

  • Hi All, Thanks for your information. Other riders of similar motorcycles can benefit from this.
If you would like to add photos to your text, I can do this for you. Click on my profile name and next to the connect button you can choose send message via the three dots.

    Hi Tomislav,

How is the sensitivity of the G-sensor set?

If this is set too sensitive, your recordings may be saved in the accident folder. The faster you drive, the more severe the shocks and vibrations of the motorcycle. The K5 then ‘thinks’ that the recordings are made during an accident and therefore saves the recordings in the accident folder.

    Hi Morton,
Okay, the question is now clear. As far as I know, this option has never been available. At least not from K2.

By the way, I know plenty of people who keep the recordings on their phone.

The app still has the map function when playing videos. But I noticed that the map function only works with videos of the .TS format and not with videos of the .MP4 format.

@INNOVV , can you provide more information about this?

Hi Geoff, Hopefully the problem is with the SD card and the problem is solved quickly with another SD card. I would like to hear whether there are no more problems with the other card.

I don’t know how you formatted the ‘problem’ card, but it is recommended not to format it in a computer but to do it using the Innovv app

    Hi Geoff,

    Can you indicate:
    – which version of the app are you using?
    – what brand/model phone are you connecting to?
    – are you using the latest firmware of the K3?
    – In the app, do you look in the ‘document’ folder, and then the ‘Camera files’ folder or the ‘Local files’ folder?
    – the videos that you do see on the computer, in which folder are they stored?
    – what kind of SD card are you using, how big is it?
    – could you perhaps post a print screen of the app’s settings?
    – is only the first 20 minutes recorded for each ride?
    – has the K3 worked before without any problems?

If you have any more information, please pass it on.

To connect your own microphone you will have to measure which of the three connections has the power supply. I assume that 1 connection is for ground (shielding), 1 connection is for the negative connection of the microphone and 1 connection is for the positive connection of the microphone.

I think the K5 microphone is an electret microphone.

    Hello Herman,

Indeed good proof that the EIS works well.
Hopefully you haven’t suffered too much (personal) damage and can continue to enjoy your Spyder and the K5.

2024-02-18 at 17:01 in reply to: K5 Not Keeping Settings and Intermittent WiFi

    Hi Adam,

After 2 minutes the LEDs will flash, which LEDs do you mean and how fast do they flash? In the manual you can see what the meaning of this flashing can be.

How is the WiFi timer set? If this is set to 2 minutes, you will not be able to connect to your K5 after 2 minutes.

What time is the loop recording time set?

If you switch off your bike, after how much time do you start the bike again? Before you start the bike again, are all the LEDs on the remote control off?

When trying to connect the wi-fi with the app I get a message saying ‘Connected without Internet.’ That’s correct. Your phone sees the K5 as an access point. Normally an access point is the access to the internet. The K5 does not provide access to the internet, hence this message.

The camera will not open on my mobile phone.
Do you mean that the app does not open, or the live view does not work in the app?

Which version of the app are you using?
Have you installed the latest firmware for the K5?
What brand/model phone do you use?

2024-02-18 at 01:04 in reply to: K3 Installation on BMW R1300GS

    Hi Colin,
All published installation information is not from Innovv itself. It is only information provided by users of the Innovv systems and placed on their site by Innovv to help other users.
Innovv cannot write detailed installation instructions for every type/model of motorcycle. You can’t expect this from Innovv given the amount of different motorcycles driving around.
In addition, the installation of an Innovv camera has no influence on the Canbus system.
You can also contact your motorcycle dealer for assistance with installing your camera. They should know the models they sell.

    Hi Brian,

You will have to experiment with a ‘dead cat’ to block the wind noise. I am also looking for a good piece of fabric or soft foam tape that can reduce wind noise.

    Hi Collin,

Maybe these links are of some use to you. These are links from the old Innovv forum where various installations on BMWs are listed. The R1300GS is not listed, but perhaps the other models can inspire you. Unfortunately, there are no good wiring photos.

Probably the biggest challenge is mounting the DVR unit out of sight.

    – Connect the power converter to the battery.

    – Connect the yellow wire to a switched power supply, for example a 12V accessory connection or the power supply for your lighting.

    – Do not use Scotch Lock Wire connectors. These will eventually cut your cables due to the vibration of the motor. Solder the connection or use good AMP crimp connectors.

    – Do not route wiring along the horn. When you use the horn, it generates a strong magnetic field which can produce an interference pulse that causes the K3 to malfunction.

    – The GPS receiver must be placed with the text facing upwards.

    – Check whether you have tightened all connectors properly and that there are rubber rings in the connectors to keep moisture out.

    – The DVR unit may become warm, this is normal.

    – Do not install the camera cables too tightly.

    – Install the latest K3 firmware version, available for download from the Innovv site.

    – Format the SD card using the Innovv app, this works better than formatting with a computer.

    – Don’t forget to enjoy your K3😃.
